The new SPR250 is the full-size bike that trail riders worldwide have been waiting for! Finally there is a bike that has up-to-date technology, full features, and excellent trail performance; thanks to AJP and the new SPR250, recreational riders no longer need to choose between a full blown expensive race-bike and an outdated, dumb-downed trail-snail.
Basically a downsized version of the PR7s aluminum/steel hybrid frame design, the unique chassis of the SPR250 is roomier than that of its SPR240 siblings, which makes it more comfortable for a fully-grown pilot to ride all day. The fuel tank resides in the rear of the bike to lower the center of gravity and centralize mass. This allows for a lighter feel and more precise turning. Up front where the fuel tank lives on other motorcycles is where you’ll find SPR’s airfilter. The uniquely designed airbox makes filter changes a snap with no tools required.
SPR250’s motor is the perfect powerplant for the avid trail rider. The SOHC four stroke is fuel injected and liquid cooled, and it fires up easily hot or cold with a push of the starter button. It provides plenty of power and torque without being “too much” like a full-blown racer.
Recreational riders are usually left to fend for themselves by other manufacturers, but AJP has included a number of creature comforts that will make your day on the trail much more enjoyable. A full digital dash keeps track of your speed and distance for the day, and stout handguards protect your hands from sticks and brush. And the stock cooling fan keeps the temperatures in check, even on tough climbs or in slow-going.
